Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
