Trump's Organization Sought to Hire Almost 200 Workers on Visas in 2025

The former president’s corporate entity accelerated its hiring of foreign workers on short-term work permits this period, while his government was placing obstacles for other businesses attempting to do the identical, an analysis released recently claimed.

According to information from the federal labor department, the Trump Organization aimed to hire at least nearly 200 foreign workers in 2025 for temporary positions at the US president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of applications for temporary work visas for staff including servers, clerks, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and agricultural laborers was the record submitted by the organization, and up from 121 in 2021, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that Trump had sought to bring in over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at his Florida resort, according to available data.

The disclosure comes amid a crackdown on legal immigration by his government that has involved the implementation of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; increased review of the activities of the 55 million people who already hold American work permits; and tighter regulations for international scholars and journalists.

In total, the Trump Organization aimed to hire over 560 overseas workers over the five years the former president has been in the White House, from his first term and during 2025.

Significantly, Trump was questioned by some in the GOP this period for remarks justifying the need for foreign workers when a company was unable to find people with “specific talents” to fill certain positions.

“You can’t just say a nation is coming in, going to spend $10bn to build a facility, and going to take people off an unemployment line who haven’t worked in five years, and they’re going to start producing their missiles. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he told a host after she suggested that foreign workers lower the wages of American employees.

The White House refused a request for comment, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an request for information.
