David Walliams dropped by book publisher.
Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was made after an inquiry regarding claims about inappropriate behaviour towards young women.
The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
A Prolific Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
From Screen to Page
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
